Windsurfing: Bradfield
Wind Direction: NW
Wind Stength: 10 - 25kts

Air Temperature: Cold
Sea Temperature: warm
Weather: Cloud / Rain

Turned up at Bradders with 5 wing foilers, (very popular here now), 3 foils 2 fins on a cold rainy day. As forecast, 20kts NW/NNW and game on, it was windy around 1pm with plenty of water on a high tide. Rigged 7.8, 900FW/115+/330 stab set plus 1. Now using a metre wide Patrik foil board. The other wind foilers were on 4.2, but they were small guys. I started off overpowered, then just after launched a rain storm came through, flattened me and everyone else! unbelievable this sport. The rain came and killed the wind, but slogged for another hour hoping and getting drench in the freezing rain! My setup was rubbish. The 900 front wing drops immediately it lose power. I dont even have time to bear off to gain height. Guess as a heavy weight, these high aspect foils, need constant wind.
The wing foilers were having a great time with F Hot Shaun doing some big jumps, in the chop, and very fast in a straight line.
It was gusty, cold, rainy and pretty horrible so packed up with a few still out slogging. Just as I started de-rigging the wind came bag, so had to quickly setup and launched, after fitting the 1100 front wing, but alas I had one foiling run again, and the wind only stayed 20 mins and I was too late again, just missed it. Packed up again and to add insult to injury it pissed down as I packed up. A day to forget for me anyway. Ian wind foil, packed up early before the rain, and Mike holed his board so had to pack up early as well. Wing foilers were stoked, but fins didn't look happy due to the gusty wind. James now switched to wing, looked pretty good after 3/4 attempts and was standing up.
